Live in Los Angeles? Have a TAP card?

Congratulations, you’re screwed.

Recently, and with as little publicity and fanfare as possible, Metro changed the way TAP cards work. There are no more monthly passes, now they’re good for 30 days from the date you activate it. So what does this mean? Well most users will end up having to purchase at least one more “monthly” pass every year to cover the leftover days.

That’s an extra $75.00 being foisted on the people who, in general, can least afford it. Chances are, if you have a monthly TAP card, it’s because you can’t afford a car. In other words, you’re poor.

I am so sick of every organization or business in America consciously taking advantage of the poorest Americans. You want to rip someone off? Rip off those who can afford it.

Fuckers.
