Christian Doctrine Proves Their God Cannot Exist
nonplussedbyreligion:
“God Is Dead” – New York Times, Jan 9, 1966
The most common argument that Atheists are asked to defend is to provide proof that god does not exist. This is known as “Proving a Negative.” Technically, it is defined as an “Argument from Ignorance.” Essentially, it is a logical fallacy in that a claimed premise is deemed true only because it has not been proven false. This...

Well that’s ridiculous. It’s racist in the first place to say that whites aren’t allowed a say in the race matter. You can’t NOT have a race. Everyone is fair game. For example, consider affirmative action. Discriminating against white males, IMO.
I’m not talking about discrimination, nor am I talking...

It is not at all a racist thing to say. Why would you say that?

This serves two purposes:
It denies the problem.
It places responsibility for the problem on the one affected.

“Latinos are the fastest growing block in America. You cannot win a national election if you have alienated every Latino voter in the country. Mitt Romney has so alienated Latinos that I kid you not — Mormon Latinos are now organizing against Mitt Romney. The Mormon Latinos are against Mitt Romney. How can this be the strategy of somebody who wants to be elected president? The only way...

For Asians And Latinos, Stereotypes Persist In... →
I was flipping around TV channels one evening, and I noticed something amazing. There was a glorious absence of black actors playing maids, sassy, streetwise pimps or bug-eyed buffoons.
And then I saw Han Lee.
On CBS’ hit comedy 2 Broke Girls, he owns the diner in Brooklyn where the show’s sassy heroines just happen to work. He’s a walking bundle of stereotypes: Broken...

You do realize that the man ESPN chose to deliver their “apology” was himself an Asian-American, right?
You also should know that this “apology” was issued as a statement, not an apology. It was also not made on their homepage, but rather in the statements/corrections area of the website.
The whole thing stinks.
Anonymous asked: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert not talking about this incident does not equate to the propagation of racism against Asian-Americans. Considering the fact that this issue has sparked national headlines would indicate that people do care. Why you're choosing to single out a Comedy Central program is beyond me. If you directed it towards CNN, MSNBC, or hell, even Fox I would get. But The Daily...

Oh, and By The Way
Those of you insisting this story is “old” or not as important as any other, I invite you to ask Jeremy Lin or just about any other Asian-American whether they think it’s an unimportant or old issue.

Why do you think that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have to mention a certain news story from when they were on vacation? Doesn’t usually happen. And it doesn’t mean anything that they decided not to.
It happened on Friday, a day they’re not on anyway. And I didn’t say they had to do anything. I just assumed that they would at very least...

Problems are only acknowledged if Stewart or Colbert are talking about them? They are comedy shows, foremost. It’s not their job to do anything else.
Is that what I said? I don’t remember saying that Stewart and Colbert validate anything for me, nor did I imply that they are the authority on what constitutes a “problem”.

Is It Just Me?
Has anyone else noticed the glaring absence of any coverage by either Stewart or Colbert of ESPN’s racist remarks about Jeremy Lin last weekend?
Colbert even mentioned Lin last night, only to then move on to some stupid pointless crap about not giving a high five to a guy dressed as a conquistador (what the fuck was the point of that, anyway?).
I have to say, I’m disappointed in both...

Well, here’s one observation:
The United States has never so much as spat at a nation that possesses a nuclear weapon.
Just a thought.
Well we have cut off all economic ties to NK. We had a 40-year standoff with the former USSR. We tried to invade Cuba when the Soviets put nukes there. I could go on, but yeah you’re basically wrong.

The ‘biblical view’ that’s younger than the Happy... →
In 1979, McDonald’s introduced the Happy Meal.
Sometime after that, it was decided that the Bible teaches that human life begins at conception.
Ask any American evangelical, today, what the Bible says about abortion and they will insist that this is what it says. (Many don’t actually believe this, but they know it is the only answer that won’t get them in trouble.) They’ll be a little fuzzy on...

We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin. His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. inothernews:
if ESPN really did want to “apologize” for their racist “Chink In The Armor” headline regarding Jeremy Lin, they would at least put it front-and-center on their website.
Instead, the “apology” is buried near the bottom of ESPN’s home page… under “corrections.”
Maybe ESPN can ask all of their Asian-American reporters and anchors how they feel about it.
Oh wait.

Significant anniversaries are solemnly commemorated — Japan’s attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, for example. Others are ignored, and we can often learn valuable lessons from them about what is likely to lie ahead. Right now, in fact.
